Spring is in the air (at least it was yesterday)!

I know we need the moisture and all but if it snows one more time I think you may find me in the middle of the road throwing a fit like unto my toddler's!

Okay, on a more serious note, it seems that more than spring is in the air. Change is in the air too. From reading everyone's blogs, this is a season of change. It is for us as well. We sold our house and will be moving out the first weekend in May. Everything with the buyers is ready and they would like to move in ASAP but we can't get into our new place until the 2nd. We are just going to rent for now until Carlos is finished with school. We're moving to a nice twinhome in Springville. It is only about 5 minutes from work for Carlos just on regular streets instead of almost 20 minutes, mostly on the freeway. We are excited and sad at the same time.

We are very sad to leave our house. We never planned to stay here forever, but thought it would be longer than this. We put so many personal touches into it, especially the landscaping, and our family helped us so much. But we know that this is a necessary step that we have to take in order to progress. While this house is our beginning, it is not the end.

Good luck to everyone in their moving and home selling!

Cute Austin

Austin has been walking since just before he turned 11 months, he started taking steps a little before 10 months.  This isn't of him walking, but I thought it was a cute picture.

A fun week

We've all had that awful stomach flu that's been going around.  It started with Austin on Wednesday morning, got Jaiden on Thursday and me on Friday.  Carlos had to stay home from work on Friday to take care of me.  He  fought it all weekend and seems to have a avoided the worst of it.  It helps that he could take medicine we couldn't.  I actually passed out or blacked out or something the last time I threw up.  It's a good thing Carlos was there to catch me as I was falling off the bed!  It was really weird because when I've passed out before (yes, it's happened several times) I always feel myself going.  This time I was just gone and it was really hard to come out of.  It freaked Carlos out.

Now I'm behind on laundry because even though I did wash nonstop for several days, it was blankets and sheets and pillows and couch seat covers and soiled clothes.  I think everyone is pretty much better now.  The boys didn't go to church yesterday because things were still too unpredictable, if you know what I mean, and I didn't want them to get anyone else sick.

By tonight, they were eating a lot better and things seemed to have gotten better on all ends!

Easter

I don't have pictures of Easter outfits because I started looking too late and couldn't find what I wanted anywhere.  We did go out to my parent's house for the weekend.  Dad was working but it's hard to coordinate his weekends off with Carlos'.  *I'm typing this one handed because Austin woke up and wants to be held.*  We did color  a few eggs with  Jaiden and then had a small egg hunt later.  It was really cold, there was still about a foot of snow in the shady areas!  Jaiden was so excited whenever he found an egg, it was fun!

Towards the end, the eggs were being dropped into the cups from a height of anywhere up to about 12 inches!

Tagged. Hmmm.

This is my fourth entry tonight so make sure you scroll down to catch them all.  Sorry it's so much at once!

Okay, Brooke tagged me to write 7 random things about myself but I've been thinking about it for quite a while.  I'm having a hard time with it.  That sure makes my life sound exciting, doesn't it!

Here goes nothing.

1. I am an aggressive driver.  I am extremely annoyed by drivers who want to go slow in the faster lanes.  I don't care if they go slow.  But stay out of the left hand lanes.  And especially the carpool lane.  Just because someone has two or more people in the car doesn't mean that they are obligated to drive in the carpool lane.  Especially when they get in there and only drive 65 or 70.  So, if you aren't aggressive (aggressive is bad, I know) and drive slow, don't be surprised if I'm behind you one day, not very happy! :)

2.  Continuing with the driving thing, I am able to park easily.  A lot of people have a hard time parking and take a long time doing it.  I find it an easy task.  Of course, it helps to know the vehicle well.  I've found that if you have to make a tight turn, more speed is better than going slow.  It's gets you in to tight places.  Weird, I know.

3.  I love roses.  I want to have a rose garden some day.  I don't think that right now I have the time or energy to care for one, but I would really like to have one later.  My favorite roses are the ones that are yellow/peachy in the center and orange at the tips.  I guess if I loved them so much, I'd know the name of them.  I'll have to find out.

4.  I have really thick hair.  The strands are fine but there is tons of it.  I have to have it thinned when I get my hair cut.  Sometimes there has been more on the floor than what the stylist has in her head and I still have tons and tons left over.  (Hey, the rules said random or weird facts).

5.  I firmly believe that you just have to have ice cream in the house.  I love the Smith's brand (Kroger's) of caramel praline.  I used to get caramel praline and butter pecan confused and would be disappointed when I got butter pecan.  I also love mixed berry flavors, especially if they have chocolate too.  A yummy one is Breyer's  (I think) Black Rasberry Chocolate.  Seriously.  Yummy!  I also love Cold Stone's cheesecake ice cream.

6.  I still love chips and salsa, as I have all my life.  I definitely prefer homemade 100% over store bought but if I'm desperate I'll buy some.  I love my mom's, which I have made but not for a couple of years and Aunt Ann's fresh salsa recipe.  I haven't craved it as much with this pregnancy but it's often a staple of my diet.

7.  I am really old fashioned.  I love old movies, music, homes, clothing and standards.  The World War II era fascinates me.  I must admit I like the romanticism of it more than the  awful things that happened, but I'm also inspired by the courage of so many people in that war.

Even though I am old fashioned, I enjoy modern medicine, technology and comforts and believe people have been inspired in these areas in order to improve our lives in many ways.  It's too bad that all that is good can be used for evil as well.  Which is why I love the old standards that once existed.

I'm not going to follow all the rules because I think everyone who's blog I read or who reads mine has already been tagged!

The rules are:
1: link to the person that tagged you and post the rules on your blog
2: share 7 random and or weird facts about yourself.
3: Tag 7 random people at the end of your post, and include links to their blogs
4: Let each person know that they've been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog

A Sign of Things to Come

This picture was taken on September 29, 2007.  I'm thinking we should have taken it as a sign of the long, cold winter ahead.  I think we just thought it was some freak event.  I was really quite pretty to see the snow over the fall colors.

Fall Pictures

While we didn't drive the Nebo Scenic Loop until the most brilliant colors had past, it was still pretty.  We went around the 20th of September and had some snow up at the very top.  These are just a couple of pics that show how pretty the drive is.  We are lucky to live so close - Payson Canyon is less than 5 minutes from our house!

There was a fire on the south side of the Nebo Loop this year.  It was sad to see everything that had been burned but I was touched by the symbolism of the new growth after the destruction.

Sleep Well?

I've been going back through pictures and I think it's funny how often Jaiden falls asleep in the weirdest ways.  These are mostly from last year but I guess tonight's position prompted the search for the other photos.

This was tonight.  We just got bunk beds but have them in two separate twin beds for now.  I finally found bedding today but it's not on yet (hence the girly comforter).

Look Mommy! and other random stuff

A couple of months ago Jaiden started really paying attention when I was putting on my makeup.  He thought it was funny that I was painting my eyes.  He also says "Ouch, mommy, ojo (eye)" when I use an eyelash curler.  I figured that it wouldn't be long before he tried to put some on and sure enough, only a couple of days later he got into my mascara.

Picture 008

Austin is on the brink of walking, he'll take four or five steps before throwing himself at us.  He gets so excited that he's laughing and falls down.  Sometimes he'll just stand up for a while and then clap and say "bravo!" before taking a few steps.  It's so cute.  It's fun to see Jaiden try to get him to walk.  He'll call him with his arms out, saying "AuSTEEN, venga, venga."  After we've been doing it for a while, Jaiden will stand on his toes, put his arms out, and take a few steps like Austin then throw himself into Carlos' or my arms.  It's pretty funny.

We stayed at Amber and Dave's on Saturday night to go to a cousin's farewell early Sunday morning.  Mom and Amy stayed too.  Jaiden had so much fun with Anna and Grandma.  Every time we went somewhere, he always knew Grandma was in the other car and going to the same place.  When we left Salt Lake to come home, he didn't cry and I was really glad.  It didn't click as to why until we got home and the garage door started closing.  Jaiden realized that Grandma wasn't with us and he lost it.  It was a major fit and it took Carlos a long time to calm him down.  All day long he kept crying for Grandma and every time he heard a car he would run to the window calling her name.  It was pretty sad.  We called her later on and that seemed to help.  He sure loves his grandma!
