Jackson Hole

Picture 080 We all went to Jackson (as you've seen from Amy and Amber's blogs) to visit David.  He works giving the sleigh rides on the elk refuge up there.  It was really neat to see what he does, how knowledgeable he is and to be so close to the elk.  It was definitely cold, be we all survived!  We later walked around Jackson a little and then went dinner at a Picture 063 restaurant called Route 89 (I think!).  We also celebrated Mom's B-day with a super yummy ice cream cake.

Sunday we went to church and then all departed on our separate routes home.  We had come up t hrough Logan (because I love Logan and always want a chance to vPicture 077isit) and came back home through Rexburg so we could see the temple.  Carlos has never been to Jackson and he loved it!  I've been trying to convince him to go for years and now I think it won't be too hard to convince him to return in the summer.  The temple in Rexburg was beautiful but a lot smaller than what the pictures make it look like.  I hadn't realized it was so close to the BYU-I campus either.  We had a good trip and the boys were really good considering the very few stops we made.  Picture 091

We love to travel and visit new places and wish we could do it more often.  Picture 102

Here's most of the group!  The dad's kept the babies warm!

The snow over Teton Pass was so deep!  What you see at the right of the picture on the right is a speed limit sign!

WooHooo!

Carlos finally has his private pilot license!  The FAA examiner lives in Colorado and is only out here about once a week.  With the way the weather has been these last couple of lovely months, every time he's been here, it's been just lovely (NOT) outside.

Friday the 15th we stopped at the airport so he could finish (he had already done most of the test) and then continued up to Logan to stay with Ryan and Jenna before going to Jackson Hole the next day.

He was pretty excited!  So was I!

Either I have a tumor...or I'm pregnant!

At the suggestion of everyone at Jamie's farewell, I decided to go ahead with this title for my post. For those of you who weren't there, yes, I'm pregnant. It was just a little bit of a shocker, especially since I didn't even know I was pregnant until I was about 14 weeks along. I had been feeling awful, (not throwing up or anything) just so exhausted that I was non-functional and honestly praying many days to just be able to make it through the day. I contributed that state of exhaustion to the stress of getting the house ready to sell, major stress with school, and the fact that I was only sleeping a few hours a night. But then all of a sudden I started thinking, okay, either I have a huge tumor or I'm pregnant because I have a bump in my tummy. I took two tests (which both immediately came up positive) and took nearly two weeks to get the courage to tell Carlos (I didn't want to add to his stress with school and all.....). I finally told him, we called the doctor. They got us in that week, but the day of my appointment the doctors mother-in-law died. So they still had me go to the office for the paperwork and stuff the nurse does, then I went back the next week for and ultrasound to find out how far along I was. I had be nursing Austin still, but had been drying up. I thought it was due to stress!!! Hmmm. So, at the ultrasound appointment, I was 17 weeks along and at the same time found out it's another boy! So, this was very unplanned and I'm still having a hard time getting used to the idea, but I guess I don't have to endure 9 whole months of pregnancy, since I'm now at 21 weeks! Austin and this babe will only be 14 months apart, life is going to be crazy for a while, but we'll be okay.

Now I have to go and scream because my neighbor high school boy is practicing his bagpipe outside and it's almost 9:00 at night! AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

Getting so big!

It's amazing how fast the boys are growing. Austin has been crawling for a little over a month and follows us everywhere. He is now cruising and walking behind his push toys. The other night I was downstairs with him and Carlos and Jaiden had gone upstairs for something. Austin went towards the stairs, which he has done before and even made it up one, but he was just babbling away when all of a sudden his voice sounded a lot further away. I ran towards the stairs just as Carlos did too because he noticed Austin sounded a lot closer from upstairs. Yeah-he was half-way up the stairs. Aaah!! And as soon as he saw me, he threw himself back at me laughing and just as pleased as could be. He then proceded to climb the rest of the way up as if he'd been doing it for a long time.
I can't believe how fast he's growing! I think that he can't wait to do everything Jaiden does. Jaiden loves to be with Austin and is always asking for him and watching out for him (when he's not hitting, pushing or wrestling him!). The other night we went to a birthday party and when they were handing out the treat bags, Jaiden immediately made sure Austin was getting a bag too. Tonight we were watching a movie and I picked up Austin to give him his bottle. Jaiden said, "Come here, come here" and just wanted Austin to lie down next to him as he hugged him for a couple of minutes. I'm glad they are starting to get to the point where they play and do things together.
I don't have a clue why this is sideways and I don't know how to rotate it, so sorry, you'll just have to rotate your head to watch it!

I know I'm a bad blogger...

I know I don't post often. I guess that my life is just the same day in day out and there's not that much to report. I'm feeling pretty stressed right now with Carlos being gone all the time with school and work and Jaiden requiring lots and lots of attention. Plus Jaiden won't go to bed until way late and he won't stay in his own bed, so there's not really that much more to say. I'm not trying to be negative, just explain why I don't post often.
We have all been sick for two weeks now. Okay, so Carlos and I started off sick, felt better, then got sick again, but the boys have been sick the whole time. It started with colds but then Jaiden got a fever that wouldn't go away and so we took him in to the doctor. It was strep. Yippy! It was a first for us, especially since while growing up, I was the only one who got strep and it was only once. It was pretty sad to see him so sad and just wanting to stay in bed all day and not eating anything, not even the yummy stuff. I must admit that I was able to get much more done around the house! I got caught up on laundry, had rooms clean, dishes done, organized my scrapbooking area and even finished two pages! It's been months since I was able to do any scrapbooking. As soon as Jaiden started feeling better, he was back to throwing things (actually, that's how I knew he felt better) and jumping around. I'm glad he's better because he was such a sad little boy for awhile. I feel a little (not too much) guilty about opting for the shot in the behind for the antibiotics instead of ten days of oral antibiotics, because honestly, he didn't scream for much longer after the shot than what he screams when he has to take medicine! Austin has had a fever too, but it's gone and they both just have coughs and runny noses now. Lots of fun!

A Day in the Life of Jaiden

Although these are -mostly- from different days throughout the year, some days several things like this happen. Life is an adventure!

A Day in the Life of Jaiden

I can do it myself!

Austin is a great eater, he always wants to eat everything and gets upset when we're eating and he's not. It's not often anymore that I can feed him all of his food, he wants to do it himself. This means more messes but its cute to watch. He's very determined! Even though he doesn't get upset about many things (just mainly food and dirty diapers), he will keep at something until he accomplishes it. Hopefully that patience, CALM and determination will continue as he grows!

Holiday Fun

Okay, here are some pics from the holidays. It was fun to see Jaiden's reaction to everything as he is now beginning to understand it all. He always loves to see "nose" (snow) and calls snowmen and santa "Santa". He loved the lights at Temple Square, but was definitely fascinated by the water fountains. The only way we were able to keep moving was to convince him there was another fountain up ahead (luckily, there always was!). We spent Christmas at my parent's and had lots of fun. After Jaiden's 11:00 bedtime (this is an ongoing trial at our house, one we have not been able to fix for almost 3 months now...), we actually had to wake him up a little after 9:00 on Christmas morning. It was nice to be able to sleep a little! Hope everyone had a great Christmas!

I'm working on a post!

I was going to write a bigger post but I spent so long looking at all the new pics I downloaded that now I'm too tired and I'm going to bed! But for Mom and Amy's sake, here are a couple of cute pics from last week when I was at their house. We had lots of fun!
